The fundamental aim of the IB is to train people with an international mindset who, understanding what it is that unites them as human beings and the responsibility that they share for looking after the planet, help to create a better, more peaceful world. It consists of two academic years with core and elective subjects that enable students to reach the goals they have set out.
Our education method focusses on critical thought to shape skills that enable them to understand and assimilate the characteristics of the world in which we fund ourselves.
We educate people in a setting that is increasingly globalised. This leads us to take refuge in knowledge and questioning as teaching methods. We foster a desire to learn, understand and create in our students.
We ensure they develop independent study skills, which are intrinsically linked to the ability to work in a team. We focus on developing the attributes of the International Baccalaureate community profile, ensuring students acquire the skills of rhetoric and public speaking in Spanish and English.
GSD Las Rozas, GSD International School Buitrago and GSD International School Costa Rica are authorised centres to offer the IB Diploma Programme and are therefore IB World Schools.
GSD Las Rozas is a candidate school for the MYP and is seeking authorisation to become an IB World School.IB World Schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to a high-quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students. Only schools authorised by the IB Organisation can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status does not guarantee that authorisation will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.
